If you have ever thought it might be nice to work from home, you have probably noticed all sorts of different “get rich quick” schemes. Of course, the best case scenario for most of these schemes is that they are a waste of time, and many of them bleed people dry before they ever make a dime! As with any “work from home” job that is truly work (and not just a get rich quick scheme!), it will take a while to get started. You will need to build a portfolio and a resume when you are pursuing work in freelance writing, and this can often mean taking on work for cheap or even for free early on. After you have started to build a bit of a portfolio, you will be ready to look for freelance jobs that offer pay – but not high pay.
